IFOMT MO Representatives Job Description

At all times the MO representative must work within the objects of the constitution as embodied in article II listed below. They must also have a full understanding of the constitutional and organisational structure of both IFOMT and their MO, and how these organisations relate to WCPT.

The objects of the Federation are:

a) To encourage improved standards of manipulative and other manual therapy skills throughout the world.

b) To encourage and promote appropriate means of communication and exchange of information with respect to the advancement of manipulative and other manual therapy skills.

c) To encourage scientific research and promote opportunities for the spread of knowledge of new developments in the field of manipulative and other manual therapy skills.

d) To organize, at regular intervals, seminars on manipulative and other manual therapy skills.

e) To represent manipulative and other manual therapy skills on an international level and encourage evidence based practice in manual therapy.

 

Roles of the MO Representative

a)  Attend meetings and act on committees as required by IFOMT Executive.
b)  Act as voting delegate for the MO for which she/he represents at IFOMT General meetings and Special General meetings.
c)  Facilitate and provide effective communication between IFOMT executive/administration and the MO country executive. Responses to requests for information or decisions required by IFOMT executive/administration are to be provided in a timely and effective manner (preferably by email).
d)  Provide and arrange reports to IFOMT administrative personnel regarding MO activities for distribution in newsletters and reports as appropriate
e)  Provide IFOMT newsletters and reports to MO executive for consideration and appropriate distribution to individual members
f)  Maintain appropriate documentation with respect to the information provided by IFOMT and the MO and keep this in such a fashion that it can be passed on to future MO representatives.
g)  Provide IFOMT administration with MO executive committee personnel following MO election of officers in each given financial year.
h)  Provide up-to-date information to the website regarding:
     representative name, address, and e-mail
     names of the MO executive, and appropriate address information
     URL of the MO website
     written description of their Member Organization
     News specific to the MO represented
     Events specific to the MO represented, specifically future courses, congresses, symposiums, meetings, etc.
i)  Provide an MO report to the IFOMT secretariat for general distribution to all MOs as requested, to include, but not restricted to:
     current issues being discussed by the MO represented
     review of major events sponsored by the MO represented
     upcoming major events (eg. symposiums) by the MO represented
     members in the news, as appropriate
     policy changes and other news which may have ramifications for the international manipulative community
j)  Distribute appropriate reports to the MO executive as appropriate when these are provided by the IFOMT secretariat
k)  To inform the IFOMT secretariat and Executive if the MO representative is unable to attend the AGM and inform the above organisation of who will attend within the bounds of the constitution.
