AAOMPT Elects New Executive and Committee Members

Reston, VA, January 30, 2009 – Robert Rowe, PT, DPT, DMT, MHS of Brooks Health System, has been
elected to serve a three-year term as the President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual
Physical Therapists. Rowe has served the association in other positions over his 14 years of membership,
including seven years of service on the Standards Committee. He most recently served as Vice President.

Elected to office of Vice President is John (Jake) Magel, PT, DSc., OCS of TOSH Spine Therapy. Like
Rowe, Magel has served the organization in other various capacities including the office of Secretary.

Rowe and Magel are part of an Executive Board of five individuals committed to the AAOMPT mission
of serving its members by promoting excellence in orthopaedic manual physical therapy practice,
education and research, and collaborations with national and international associations.

The final position filled by the 2009 elections was the addition of a Nominating Committee Member. This
position was filled by John Seivert, PT, MS, GDMT of Seivert Physical Therapy, PC.

Rowe, Magel and Seivert begin their three-terms on February 1, 2009.

The Vision of AAOMPT:

Orthopaedic manual physical therapy will be the accepted, evidence-based musculoskeletal clinical
practice in the United States, whereby Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual
Physical Therapists are recognized by the public as specialists in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy.
